About the YSQC

Purpose

The Youth Services Quality Council (YSQC) of Rochester and Monroe County provides a forum for youth service providers to collaborate on new ways to do business to ensure coordination of services, maximization of resources, and quality service delivery to youth and families. Members come together to implement a change process committed to continuous quality improvement and consumer life-long independence and self-sufficiency.

Why We Exist
The YSQC responds to the growing needs of youth-serving organizations and the community in the face of scarce resources to address the complex, multi-faceted issues facing children, youth, and families today. Youth service providers and funders must do business differently in order to empower youth and serve families. The increasing intensity of problems, number of youth and families experiencing obstacles to self-sufficiency, education, and peaceful existence, and frustration levels of service providers in the face of dwindling dollars and support necessitates change. By working closely with youth and families, the YSQC develops new ways to effect change.

Who We Are
YSQC membership consists of youth-serving organizations (not-for-profit, for-profit, and public) that are committed to providing quality services for youth and their families. Members make a commitment in terms of time and staffing to the council and the council's vision, mission, and operating principles. Funders and consumers are an integral part of YSQC processes and are invited to join the council to help address issues. Non-member organizations interested in the work of the YSQC and quality services for youth can participate on Council Teams.
